How do I Speed up my Computer?

Having a slow computer is not only inconvenient, but can just about drive you insane as well! Everyone wants their computer to function quickly and properly but unfortunately, not everyone is aware of the steps they need to take to make sure that it does. If you’re looking to speed things up a bit, here are a few things that you can try to get things really moving.

Windows Registry Problems:
The first step in getting your computer to run a little faster, is invest in a registry cleaner if you don’t already have one. Windows Registry cleaners works extremely well for computers that are Windows based. Your computer registry is an integral part of your computers operating system. When it fails to function properly, it can cause your computer to get bogged down and slow. This happens when there are too many entires in your registry that are outdated, incomplete or were not properly installed. If you can make running your Windows Registry cleaner part of your computer maintenance routine, you can boost your computers performance and help speed things up.

Temporary Files / Cookies:
Having a computer registry that is not functioning properly is just one of the reasons that your computer may not be running as fast as you would like it to be. There are other things that can be happening on the inside that effect performance as well. If you are frequently on the Internet, your computer may have too many temporary Internet files or website cookies, which can also slow down your performance. You should be routinely running the system maintenance on your computer which will remove these files, as well as the history of websites you have visited. All of these things take up space on your computer and make your computer not run as fast as you would like it to. Your computer will not delete these files automatically, and many people don’t even really know that they are there. If you are looking to speed up your computer and boost it’s performance level, run system maintenance regularly, particularly if you spend a lot of time online.

Viruses & Spyware:
Another issue that can be causing your computer to run slower than you are wanting it to is harmful viruses and virus-type programs. Contrary to popular belief, a computer virus doesn’t automatically crash a system right away. A virus can poke around on your system and do quite a bit of damage without ever actually crashing your computer. Other virus-type programs such as Malware and Spyware can also sit undetected on your computer and cause damage that can hinder proper computer function. Running an anti-virus, Malware and Spyware check on your computer can help to get rid of these problems if there are any, and speed up your computers processing.

Other problems:
There are several other possible problems which include hardware problems (especially with your hard-drive), in which case you may want to defrag your system and clean up its hard-drive. You can also try removing programs that you do not need or do not use frequently, which can take up a great deal of hard drive space and slow your computer down.
