Why is my Computer so Slow?

Having a slow computer is not only inconvenient, but can just about drive you insane as well! Everyone wants their computer to function properly but unfortunately, not everyone is aware of the steps they need to take to make sure that it does. If your computer has been running slowly, there are a few things that you can do to try and clean things out and speed things up.

Windows Registry:
The first thing that you should do if you do not already have one, is invest in a Registry Cleaner. A Computer Registry cleaner works extremely well for computers that are Windows based. Your computer’s registry is an integral part of its operating system. When it fails to function properly, it can cause your computer to get bogged down and slow. The reason that the registry gets bogged down is because your registry contains too many outdated, incomplete and unwanted entries in it, which make your computer not function properly. When you properly maintain your registry with a registry cleaner to clean out these unnecessary entries, you boost your computers performance and help speed things up.

Temporary Internet files & Cookies:
Having an outdated computer registry is just one of the reasons that your computer may be running to slow. There are other things that can be happening on the inside that effect performance as well. If you are frequently on the Internet, your computer may have too many temporary Internet files or website cookies, which can also slow down your performance. You should be routinely running the system maintenance on your computer which will remove these files, as well as the history of websites you have visited. All of these things take up space on your computer and factor in to why it is running so slow. Your computer will not delete these files automatically, and many people don’t even really know that they are there. By performing system maintenance on your computer on a regular basis, you can remove these files and help keep your computer running fast and smooth.

Viruses & Spyware:
Another issue that can be causing your computer to run so slow is harmful viruses and virus-type programs. Contrary to popular belief, a computer virus doesn’t automatically crash a system right away. A virus can sit around and do quite a bit of damage without ever actually crashing your computer. Other virus-like programs such as Malware and Spyware can also sit undetected on your computer and cause damage that can hinder proper computer function. Running an anti-virus, Malware and Spyware check on your computer can help to get rid of these problems if there are any, and speed up your computers processing. If you don’t already have these features on your computer, you should definitely consider investing in them to ensure proper computer function.

Having a slow computer is definitely a drag, but nine times out of ten the computer is running slowly due to human error. Failing to maintain and protect your computer greatly increases your chances of having your computer run slow and not function in the way that it should.
