Manual Steps to Restore your Registry:



You can restore your computer to a previous state by using Windows System Restore. This is useful if you encounter problems with your computer and want to undo them.

How do I Restore my Windows Registry?
A Windows Registry Cleaner automatically restores, cleans, and backs up your computer's Registry. Alternatively, you can follow the directions below to manually restore the Registry.


Steps to manually Restore your Windows Registry:



Windows Vista Directions:
  1. Click Start , click Run, then type systempropertiesprotection and press OK.  (If you're asked for an administrative password or confirmation, type the password or click 'Continue'.)
  2. In the System Properties screen that appears, on the System Protection tab, click System Restore.
  3. In the System Restore screen that appears click Next.
  4. Choose the restore point that you wish to use, then click Next. If you want to choose an older restore point select Show restore points older than 5 days below the list of restore points.
  5. Confirm your restore point, and then click Finish. Your computer is then restored to the chosen restore point and your computer is restarted.
  6. After your computer reboots, click OK when the System Restore confirmation appears.
Windows XP Directions:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type %SystemRoot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then click OK.
  2. On the Welcome to System Restore screen, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it isn't selected), and then click Next.
  3. On the Select a Restore Point screen, click the system checkpoint. In the area that reads On this list select the restore point, click the entry named "Guided Help (Registry Backup)," and then click Next. If a System Restore message appears that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make, click OK.
  4. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection screen, click Next. Your computer is then restored to the chosen restore point and your computer is restarted.
  5. After your computer reboots, click OK when the System Restore confirmation appears.
